I've been slowly getting the Academic Husband to watch episodes of Supernatural with me... it's taking longer because he's not the mainline an entire season in a day or two type, like I am... he likes to watch one episode, then wait a few days, watch another. Episodic network television is MADE for people like him, I swear... I don't even think he minds hiatuses. He claims it's comic book training... having to wait a whole month for the next GI Joe and Captain America, back when he was a kid. Makes me nutsy.

Anyway--we've made it as far as In My Time of Dying (and don't even get me started on the fact that it took over a week between watching Devil's Trap and watching this--it was on a CLIFFHANGER!) and we were talking about it afterwards, and I was trying to taunt him into watching more episodes by saying 'but we must find out what it is that John whispered in Dean's ear!'

Academic Husband: *in John-voice* "Dean... we really could have afforded cookies all those years."

I only kicked him twice. I think that was restrained.

*DIES*

Oh lordy. I am DYING giggling here. Face in my hands and everything. Oh, man, that sounds like something that they'd put in a blooper reel. Can't you picture JDM saying that in an outtake?

*reads pet-comment out loud to AH*

AH: See? I told you I'm brilliant.

Great, now he has ammunition.

And yes--I TOTALLY could. I'm sure they had to do that scene over and over again to get it just right and all the angles, plus rehearsals, and it was maybe his last scene that he ever shot, and just ask anyone who ever does theatre--if you've got a chance to whisper something to someone on stage and the audience is going to not hear you? You don't say the lines. You say something random or disgusting or perverted or try and make them laugh. That's part of the FUN!

Bwahahaha! It might be taking you awhile to get him to watch all of them, but it sounds like he has the sense of humour down perfectly.

BTW, I think I scared the cat when I laughed like that. :-)

He really likes the show, I think, even though it scares the crap out of him sometimes. Which is fair, because it scares the crap out of ME most of the time, I just can't stop watching it because when you combine hotass with good writing and storytelling, well, I'm just screwed.

(He is such a Dean!boy too, it makes me giggle. And I am forever cackling and frightening my cattens).

*bursts out laughing* Dr lee spent the two shows I watched with him (we have them on DVD so he's actually sen them all) suggesting times when Journey would be a good musical choise. he laments that no one has been Called Dr James Hetfield in a long time.

I have to wait for season two to be on DVD before I watch it.

The AH and I watched the first season together, although I saw all the episodes a few times before he ever did, and he's having quite a lot of fun commenting when he decides he can be funny.

Plus, he's a closet Dean!boy. He doesn't think he is, but he SO is. It's pretty obvious.

Season two is lovely... if you enjoyed the first season, you'll be glad to see season two once you're able to.
