I have a... well, I don't know if it's a good habit or a bad habit, but if a movie is recced strongly enough for me by people I trust and I find it for a really good price, chances are I'm going to buy it, even if I've never seen it before. But sometimes even if they're sitting on my shelf, it takes me forever to actually just sit my ass down and watch them, so... this is my list of movies/TV shows that are actually in my house, and the boxes still have the plastic on them.

On VHS:

Fargo
The Natural
Richard III
Rumble Fish
Rushmore
Swing Kids
Terminator II

On DVD:

Arrested Development, Seasons 1-3
Batman the Animated Series Season 1
Beautiful Girls
Blade Runner
Blade 3
Big Fish
The Boondock Saints
But I'm a Cheerleader!
Casablanca
Dante's Cove
Dark Angel Season 1
Dark Angel Season 2
Friday Night Lights

Garage Days
Gilmore Girls Season 5

The New World
Trading Places

And I have 'acquired' these, and have them on my computer, but haven't watched:

Brothers and Sisters- season so far
Daybreak- everything aired
Dead Like Me- Complete series
Friday Night Lights- season so far
Heroes- season so far
Jericho- season so far
Rome- Season one
Space Above and Beyond- Complete series

Does it help that at least I have good taste, for the most part, in the millions of DVD's I have that I haven't watched but are sitting right behind me?

The Academic Husband keeps forgetting that I haven't seen Toy Story 2, and he's appalled every single time.

I can't believe I've not watched the KoH EE yet. It's absurd. But I just need 4 hours of undisturbed time where I'm not trying to multitask and I can just settle in and WATCH the whole thing (I've seen the theatrical a bunch of times... it's the EE that I need to watch).

Latter Days I saw recced not long ago, and I'm really curious about it.

Ok, X-Men United, a decent dose of crack-filled Garage Days and a delicious ending full of Hugh-goodness: Oklahoma! (BTW, SO jealous you have it and I don't!) And BTW:

xXx.

Lots of love, the sugar hyped-still awake at 6am Mutant!

From: [identity profile] linden-jay.livejournal.com
Oh my word, GO TO SLEEP, sugar hyped one! *laughs* 6 am, that's like, pushing Jay-golden time!

And once my dvd drive is fixed, if I can find a way to burn Oklahoma for you, I'll send it your way--promise!

(No xXx! BAD! *hisses lots* Next you'll be trying to get me to watch Fast and the Furious or something.)

And my icon is commenting on your coffee icon.

Oh, come on! Ignore the coffee for a second and look at the shiny male!

And xXx GOOD! F&F sucks. Don't touch it. And I CAN'T sleep...eeeee...*is giggling madly*...I've been reading/conversing since 10pm...it's almost 7am on Sibling's birthday and he Return of Dad and Mel...

From: [identity profile] linden-jay.livejournal.com
I've been told F&F is just the slashiest damned thing in like, ever. There's a you tube clip where they slash up the trailer, and I swear, it's not that much different from the original trailer, just different music.

I love that you've got a Colin thing... that's just awesome. You're gonna be strung out all day and just giddy.

*grins madly* it is my intention to sit here, annoy you, draw some, then annoy everyone else with my hyped-up ranting....:D

From: [identity profile] linden-jay.livejournal.com
Well, it's always important to have goals *nods sagely*. What brought on the Colin renaissance?

From: [identity profile] lady-adrian.livejournal.com
Well...with father and stepmother away, I stole her Bridget Jones's Diary books. Then bought my own. Then bought DVDs. After much, MUCH thought (ok, several buckets later...:D ) I ended up with a thing. For Colin Firth. Hence shiny icons. :D

What about Pride and Prejudice? Have you seen that yet? I mean, if you've watched Bridget...

You think I'd pass up an opportunity to view more wet t-shirtedness?! Are you insane (or is that me, I can never remember...)?

I'm tempted to rent out What A Girl Wants. Seeing Colin air-guitaring in leather pants is SO worth enduring Amanda FUCKING Bynes....

Date: 2007-01-11 10:13 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] linden-jay.livejournal.com
Oh! You have to watch The Importance of Being Earnest, if you haven't already! He's so good in that one, and there's no Amanda Bynes!

I think we take turns being insane, but I can never quite remember properly...

OMG! *turns up music and plays soundtrack* He's an APPALLING singer! *giggles*

But he looks good in a pair of breeches.

Oh hell yes. As well as looking exceptional in a tux. :D

From: [identity profile] linden-jay.livejournal.com
You've got it baaaaaad.

Is it terrible that the only Hugh thing I've still seen is him in X-Men one and two, and heard Boy From Oz, and seen him on the Tony awards?

Date: 2007-01-11 10:27 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] lady-adrian.livejournal.com
Oh ;P!!!!

And yes. Extremely bad. Bad Jay, no biscuit.

From: [identity profile] linden-jay.livejournal.com
Hey--I finally believed that you weren't making up the part about him singing, so that's something, isn't it?

I can't remember--did you see the new James Bond movie? Yes, I'm tangenting all over the place today... it's me, you should be used to it by now.

Date: 2007-01-11 10:34 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] lady-adrian.livejournal.com
Hun, I'm so hyped I can actually keep up with you!

But no, haven't seen it. Any good?

Date: 2007-01-11 10:37 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] linden-jay.livejournal.com
See? Sleep deprivation=easier Jayspeak translation! There's no bad here!

Actually, it was awesome, and I'm not typically a Bond fan. Like... I've nothing against him/them or anything, I'm just not like whooo Bond! I saw Goldeneye, thought it was cool, then skipped the rest of the Brosnon films.

But yeah, it was good and fun and had me peeking through my hands, and Daniel Craig makes an awesome Bond. He's not someone you look at and go 'damn, HOT!', but when he's got the accent working with the attitude and the body and all? Damn. Sexy. Plus, it's the most recent movie I've seen in theatre since Pirates.

Date: 2007-01-11 10:43 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] lady-adrian.livejournal.com
Cool...maybe will see it when it comes out on DVD. I wasn't a big fan of Bond, to be honest...I mean, I saw Goldeneye too (obvious reason, there), but apart from that, not interested.

Date: 2007-01-11 10:45 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] linden-jay.livejournal.com
Yeah-- like, I'd recommend it just as a good movie in general, not just as a Bond movie, which I was pretty pleased with.

And yeah, Goldeneye... mmm. Bean.

Date: 2007-01-11 10:50 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] lady-adrian.livejournal.com
Yeh....lotsa Bean. Bad Bean. :D

*grins* I'm mean. Sibling just woke up and I called her an old hag (well, she called me grandma). She could tell I hadn't slept.

Date: 2007-01-11 10:53 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] linden-jay.livejournal.com
Bean with pretty SCARS! Mmm...

You are mean. Poor thing, getting all old and stuff and you're taunting her. Crazy not sleeping girl.

Hey, I'm older! Just wait til I find the eggs....:D

And OMG Icon!Love.

From: [identity profile] linden-jay.livejournal.com
Isn't it awesome? I giggle every time at that one.

You're not supposed to turn your sister into a meringue on her birthday!

Date: 2007-01-11 11:05 pm (UTC)
From: [identity profile] lady-adrian.livejournal.com
That never stopped her doing it to me! *pout*

Besides, I think she ate all the eggs.

HOLY CRAP. You should just give Lost Season 1 to me :P I'll take it off your hands gladly so you won't have to worry yourself over having to watch it. Trust me. This is a really good idea.

From: [identity profile] linden-jay.livejournal.com
HA!

You're a funny one, that's what I like about you.

I'll watch it sometime... maybe when the whole series is over and I don't have to worry about freaking over cliffhangers. I've got enough shows right now that do that to me *glares at Supernatural*.
