Obviously the Firth role was cast somewhat against type, and an Englishwoman asked if after being known as a "rather nice romantic hero," he minded playing "a pill-popping, oversexed bisexual."

"It's a role that's not really a stretch for most actors," Firth answered.

*sighs* Jess, hon... I'm gonna have to call a 'you're a lesbian' flag on this play. Colin Firth= teh hawt. And you know I'm not huge on guys who are all that very much older than I am. You've got decent 'straight cred' in general when it comes to seeing the pretty, but this once, it's letting you down. Don' worry though- I still love you. Here- you can look at this instead, and Janine and I'll keep Colin for ourselves.

Well, I think it's a very cool quote. [snicker] And although I had to look Colin Firth up on IMDB to see who the heck he was, I think he's reasonably attractive. I've seen a few of his movies, but they were long enough ago that I don't remember him, specifically, in them. But the pic on his IMDB page isn't bad. He looks like a cuddly sort, you know?

did he really say that, coz in that case guh!!!! and i'm gay and i'm drooling ... but that's just the implied hint of him in slashy situations ... i don't know whether he's attractive or not, most of my straight friends go weak at the knees when they saw him on Bridget jones 2 (me on the other hand - rather liked the bit at the end :P)
