1) Marshmallows. You can tell I grew up living out in the woods and having a lot of campfires because ohhh marshmallows. I'm very picky about them though. They have to be perfectly toasted, golden brown, and melted all the way through the centre. It's worth it to get it right.
2) Mohinder Suresh (Heroes). I heart him. And not just 'cause he's pretty (even though he is), and not just because I think he's a wonderful and wonderfully flawed character (which seriously, props to both the writers and the actor for pulling that off), but because I love love LOVE love love the wayashinae writes him, whether it's AU, canon, or verse!canon.
3) Morena Baccarin. If you've seen her, or seen her act, I shouldn't have to explain this. If not?
Also to be going and watching Firefly/Serenity.

4) Music. Total music junkie, but I depend on two sources for most of my music--The Academic Husband, who was the first one to get me listening to other than move musicals, and shaped a lot of my rock-like-taste, andashinae who's gotten me hooked on more stuff than I can shake a big stick at.
... I still love movie musicals though.
5) Moonlight. My family lives way out of town, on a lake, and on a clear night, with a full moon, you could see the moonpath all the way across the water, bright as day. My cousin Caelin used to tell me if you ran fast enough, you could get from one side of the lake to the other. I never tried it. I should have...
6) Movies. I calculated how much money I've spent on movies once, and I had to go and lie down for awhile. I'm a junkie for good writing, and good acting, and I'll watch a lot of anything, cross-genre, if it can provide at least one of those two things. I'm just lucky that I have friends who vet stuff for me in advance so they can tell me what's a Jay-movie and what's really, really not.
7) Memories. They can be a gift and a curse, but most of the time, they're a blessing, even when they're sad. I treasure my memories, and losing them or forgetting things is one of the few things I truly fear.
8) Mud. Sometimes, nothing beats just being allowed to get dirty. We used to do what we called 'the mud bowl' in Vancouver, go out and play soccer (football) after a rainstorm and just get covered from head to toe. We'd be so sore we couldn't even walk the next day, and so dirty it'd take 3 showers to get clean. It was awesome.
9) Money. Actually, I don't mean quite what you probably think I mean. I love Canadian money. I think our money is pretty! I love that we've got bright coloured bills, and coins with funny animals on them, and we actually use the words 'loonie' and toonie' and I like that it looks like play money. It's one of the things I like best about being Canadian, because it's distinctive.
10) Musicals. Stealing one from up top with music, but I can't leave it off. I LOVE musicals. I think that there are things you can't say in prose that you can say in song. I think that music helps tell stories, that it stirs us and inspires us and makes us feel. And I think there's nothing wrong with pretty pretty men singing and dancing.
