Nobody look too shocked...

...but I am actually on vacation. Granted, only two days worth, and five hours travel each way, so only one day in one place, but I just DO not care, because I am not at work, not at home, and not within range of anyone or anything connected with my home town.

Yes, it's possible that we really needed to get away.

There are two bonuses that come with working in a hotel that's part of a chain or family of hotels. 1) You get cheap rates. 2) When you check in and they find out that you work at one of the other locations? You usually get upgraded. I am typing this from the bedroom part of our suite, which has marble floors, views of the lake from the giant windows beside the king sized bed, a private balcony, a kitchen, a soaker tub... yeah. Pretty well spoiled right now. The babies think that it's Christmas in here, and would probably be quite happy if we never left the hotel room. I'm just happy that they're currently taking the first nap they've had since we left home.

So for the rest of the day, it's wandering and shopping, visiting my cousin for dinner, and doing a lot of jack and shit, before we head back tomorrow and go see Cirque de Soleil--our birthday present from my inlaws, which comes complete with baby sitting. Pretty sweet.

I'll be back and in action on Sunday, so no one set anything on fire before then. I'm the one who gets to set things on fire.

Loves!
