I has no voice.

I suppose this is to be expected after yesterday. My chamber choir did two performances back to back, over 2 hours each one of really hard singing but good grief, I can barely talk at all. I suppose it's just fate being cute that I have to go in for the secretary today at school (seven-thirty start time--INHUMAN!) and answer the phone all day.

But the concerts are done, no choir till the new year, and the show I'm co-directing opened this weekend. I finally have time to breathe.

...anyone want to take odds on how long before I crashboom with the sick? Yeah, that's what I thought *snerk*
linden_jay: (Bored Now.)
Yeah, I might be just a little bit excited about that. I'm sure it doesn't show *g*.

So instead of watering the lawn and cutting it today, which is what the original plan was, I am trapped in the house hiding from the really big, really cranky bear that's decided to hang around our place. Not the wee cute bear of a few days ago, but a bigassed mean male bear who's come down to look for food and is lurking around our house. I found this out this morning when I got up and found a note on the kitchen table, written in big black marker in my Dad's serial killer handwriting. Pretty amusing way to wake up.

My dad bought a few bear bangers just in case, which aren't nearly as dirty as they sound (I know you were all thinking about it!) A bear banger is like a cap and a firework combined, but without the light show, and with a delayed fuse. It looks like a pen, and you wear it in your pocket if you're walking in the woods, and if you need to scare away a bear, you take the safety off and fire this thing in the direction of the bear. It goes about 100 feet, and then goes off with a HUGE bang, which scares the fuck out of the bear and it runs away. Just don't fire it behind the bear, or it can get freaked out and run AT you. Not so good.

Also, I had my Dad watch Shut Up and Sing, and now we've got a brand new Dixie Chicks fan on our hands. It's pretty darned cute. I'm clearly going to have to burn him a few cd's.

Subject title kind of tells the whole story, doesn't it?

Go here, then click 'How I'm livin' now' off the player.

And anyone who knows how to do that thing where songs what are on myspace become less on myspace and more on my computer... well, tha'd be cool!

I uploaded these for the Fierce one and figured why not keep passing on the links?

I was uploading this for someone, and since I've got the yousendit links, might as well share it around! This is kind of a follow up to me posting the Canadian cast of The Phantom of the Opera, which stars Colm Wilkenson, who's one of my personal favorites in ever.

Yeah, not really a big shock me still awake, but damn it, I could really use just the slightest bit of not totally messed as hell to my sleep schedule lately. At least for there to be some degree of predicting when in a day I'd be awake--that would be a Big Start.

Anyway--I'm crashing, because I finished the hat I was knitting that I never ever thought I'd finish and it's prettiful and I love it and that means I'm rewarded by being permitted to sleep. Damn, you'd think at least I could have a cookie.

When I get up, I'm planning on putting more music on my computer, and I'm adding some musical theatre, so if anyone's interested in 'acquiring' (oh, aren't I subtle) any of it, I can always make arrangements for that... just let me know if there'd be interest so I know whether to bother. Today I'll be chucking on:

Phantom of the Opera (Canadian Cast), Miss Saigon, Bride and Prejudice, Evita, (Yes, the Madonna one--don't judge me! Besides, I prefer to call it the Antonio Banderas one) West Side Story, Les Miserables, Rent, Showboat. I've got more, I'm sure... just have to find them. I wonder if the AH is hoarding my showtunes...
linden_jay: (Riley- Cowboy guy)
I've uploaded iTunes, and it's loading up my music library onto it's player, switching all the songs over and letting me know as it does, and it's gotten as far as Rufus Wainwright... which I found out when I switched back to that window and it said "Converting 'Gay Messiah'" And then I laughed till I almost sprayed Canada Dry out my nose.

ETA: Oh come ON! Now it's converting 'Not the Boy Next Door'. Let the gay boys ALONE! *giggles incessantly*

From... somewhere. I forget.

Open your choice of music player [iTunes, Limewire, Kazaa, ect.] and put it on shuffle. Press play. For every question type the song that's on. And when you go to a new question press the next button. No cheating.

The 'Donkey' in Donkey Riding is a type of large winch, used to pull ropes and chains aboard sailing ships.

Yeah, whatever... still sounds damned dirty.

Ohfuckinghell so tired *cue much whining*

Puppy was a special treat this morning for no particular reason other than to be special. And whiny. And keep jumping towards the walls of his metal crate making loud clangy noises every single time one of the cats passed by. 'Cause god knows having cats around here- that's something Brand New *growls*

And now I'm awake and too cranky to sleep. Yeah, I know, it's 8:30am, but I went to bed at 4. Ugh. I can't already be asking for a do-over on the day when the sun's hardly up. Unless I can. Can I have one? Please?

In other news, I have a really random collection of songs that I don't have and I would really really love to have. *holds out begging bowl whilst looking v.v. cute*

- "Leaving on a Jet Plane" (as sung by Chantal Kreviazuk on the Armageddon soundtrack) (Thank you, [livejournal.com profile] kristinholt!)
- From the South Park musical: Blame Canada, Kyle's Mom's a bitch, What would Brian Boitano do?, La Resistance
- "It's Oh So Quiet" (Bjork) ( Thank you, [livejournal.com profile] notme!)
- "Ain't Goin' Down (Til The Sun Comes Up)", "The Thunder Rolls", "Friends in Low Places" (Thank you, [livejournal.com profile] sally_simpson76) (Garth Brooks)
- Absolutely anyone singing "Fever"
- "Smooth Criminal" (Alien Ant Farm)
- "Ring Of Fire" (Joaquin Phoenix. I heard the trailer a LOT at work. I wanna hear the whole song) (Thank you, [livejournal.com profile] mercyisme)
- "You Will Be My Ain True Love, The Scarlet Love" (Alison Krauss - Cold Mountain Soundtrack)

Told you it was a strange mix. OMG so TIRED! *cue more whining, goes off to bake*
linden_jay: (cleolinda- Becky)
Okay... so who out there loves me? Okay, tha's a silly question- y'all love me, but who loves me and actually wants to do me a favor *SNORT*?

I really want someone to yousendit me the version of Leonard Cohen's Hallelujah as covered by Jeff Buckley. Anyone who watches The West Wing may remember that it was used during the episode Posse Comitatus. I don't have a music download program, and I wants it badly (please).

Here's hoping someone can find it. And MWAH to y'all just cos!

ETA- like, two minutes after my first post, [livejournal.com profile] dryope stepped up to the plate, with not one, but two versions of it! *snugs like whoa* Anyone who wants to download 'em- go 'head- they're truly lovely, and if they run out, I'll repost them. Thanks [livejournal.com profile] dryope!
